Holloway Guide
Your All In London guide to Holloway

Originally, Holloway was the route through which the cattle were driven into the north London market at Smithfields. Most of Holloway was rural until the 19th century when it became developed with light industry and Victorian housing. By the mid 20th century, Holloway became quite run down, but it has recently begun to experience the same regeneration as other parts of Islington. Holloway is also famous for being the location of Britain’s largest all female prison.
