Lower Marsh Guide

Your All In London guide to Lower Marsh

Lower Marsh became a designated conservation area in 1984, as the shop frontages situated here retain architectural elements from the 19th century, when it was regarded as the commercial hub of the area. Lower Marsh covers Lower Marsh Road and adjacent streets The Cut, Westminster Bridge Road and Waterloo Road. There are pubs and bars which fill up after 5 pm, catering to commuters who use Waterloo station, several restaurants (mostly Thai), boutiques and the Lower Marsh Market. Even the Old Vic Theatre falls within its boundaries. What you won’t find are high street stores and chains, but there is plenty of character.
