Petts Wood

Your All In London guide to Petts Wood

Petts Wood is the name given to an area of woodland as well as the district that surrounds it in the borough of Bromley. It has been hailed as a notable example of 20th century inter-war town planning, as the residential areas were designed around the train station and shops, which sat in the middle, a technique that has been copied in towns throughout the UK. Petts Wood is home to a surprisingly varied array of shops and there is no shortage of churches. Charles de Gaulle resided here during World War II, and deadpan comic Jack Dee hails from the area.
