Steeles Village is a recent addition to London’s “villages”. The rebranded area refers to the lower part of Haverstock Hill, near Chalk Farm tube station, and takes its name from Steeles Road. Its status was decided by local residents who complained the area did not have enough of an identity, as being located between Chalk Farm and Belsize Park clearly wasn’t good enough. This micro-neighbourhood can count one pub, one brasserie and one fish and chip shop as destinations, but Boris Johnson has yet to agree on amending the bus stops to include the new name.
