Sydenham Area Guide

One of the fastest developing districts in London, Sydenham has only become heavily populated in the last 200 years and was originally actually part of Kent. More recently, Sydenham has been incorporated into the London Boroughs of Lewisham, Bromley and Southwark.

It was the building of the railway that went to Crystal Palace that led to the rapid development of the area that is now known as Sydenham.

Modern day Sydenham is a popular urban district and is heavily populated with a multi-cultural mix of people. There are also some popular shops and entertainment venues that attract both London residents and visitors from miles around such as pleasure gardens and even a dinosaur theme park!
