This suburb sits on the edge of Greater London in the borough of Hillingdon, and has a lively town centre fortunate enough to retain many old buildings, making it a mixture of picturesque and modern. The Chimes is the main shopping centre and there is an abundance of bars and pubs which get filled up at weekends, so it’s not uncommon for things to get rowdy. Generally speaking the northern part of Uxbridge is the more desirable area and has the most housing, the southernmost areas are industrial. Brunel University is located here therefore there is a thriving student population; it’s also a popular area for first time buyers as Uxbridge offers more value for money than inner London.
