Part of London’s commuter belt, West Croydon is a tad less popular (and less expensive) than South or East Croydon, however it is still favoured by families and those who wish to work in the city but want more value for money in terms of housing. There is everything from detached and semi-detached houses to converted maisonettes and purpose built flats. The area has a wealth of shopping and dining facilities, making it perfectly self-contained, however West Croydon links to London, Surrey, Sussex and Gatwick airport thanks to the station, which is also served by the recently extended East London Line; there are also numerous bus routes and trams.
