Wimbledon Guide
Your All In London guide to Wimbledon

As with many of the London suburbs, the area remained predominantly rural until the 19th century when rail travel became more popular and those working in the city were able to live a little further out of town. In Wimbledon, this transformation occurred around 1855. After this boom, Wimbledon saw a large number of new business, shops and housing in the area, making it one of the most popular western suburbs.
Wimbledon is well known for its wealth of recreational activities including horse racing, rifle shooting and, of course, tennis!
