I'm surprised by some of the awful reviews for Spice Inn. It's been a family favourite for years.

The service is always polite and attentive and the food is always delicious and very reasonably priced.

Whenever I have visited it's always been busy, be that on a weekday or a weekend and it's been serving delicious authentic Indian cuisine in Stratford for as long as I can remember and I've lived in the area for 17 years!

I highly recommend this place.

Improve quality of food( give more indian touch to food)
prices are high compare to portion of food served
spaces/sitting arrangements are very congested

Terrible food ..even worse service. Starters arrived freezing cold ...and the sheek kebab was the same kebabs I buy from the local grocers.
Really disappointed.

Must say how much this place has changed since my last review in 2009. Went with a group of friends and had a great time and good food. The owner has revamped and updated the restaurant. The service was good natured and polite. It was a very busy Friday evening - I've never seen it so packed. The food was much better than I had expected. Two bottles of wine, lager, liquers, desserts and the bill was very reasonable. Keep it up.

Disappointing overall. Customer service was unwelcoming and verging on rude. Their speciality Lamb Korai tasted sub standard - more like a basic curry and skimpy on the portions of meat. Nan bread was super though, and the chicken tandoori was pretty good. All in all I won't be back and don't recommend it.

I love going to Spice Inn as the food is absolutely delicious! My favourite is peshwari naan which has just the right amount of sweetness and nuts, chicken korma, nice and yoghurty and has the right amount of flavour. The mango lassi is sweet, fresh and yummy too. However, the starters are small and their desert menu is very limited. I felt that the service is rushed but whenever I have been there, they are busy. It has never been empty. The price is reasonable therefore for the main course it is definitely worth going! Farha Ahmad, East London.

Went yesterday evening and found it suprising busy for a Tuesday night. This place and grown tired and just too comfortable. Service functional and food.... Not bad but not good either. Lots of onions and peppers on each of our dishes to the point of over powering. Vege curry was just tinned vegetables (many peas and carrots) and lots of onions. We also noticed portions were a bit smaller than usual but this may be the recession biting. Even so the quality should stand out. I would call it adequate. Its really gone down over the past couple of years and they will really have to improve if they want to reap the benefits of the olympics and thereafter.

I used this restaurant for my birthday. The service was great and food is delicious. We ordered a variety of foods; chicken jalfrezi, prawn bhuna, lamb madras, aloo gobi and a few biryani's and all were nice. I have noticed on a friday/saturday night they get VERY busy and they do tend to hurry you a little as there are other people waiting but that is understandable. Overall this was a nice restaurant and I go there often now. Nobody had dodgy stomachs the next day!!!!!

I went to this restaurant with friends from work. As soon as we got in the waiter was rude and kept on rushing us. When we ordered drinks the wrong drinks were given to us. Before we had even finished our starters the waiter kept on rushing us to order the main. When we said to give us a couple of minutes he literally stood behind us waiting. Two waiters arrived with the main course and as one waiter started putting the dishes on the table, he was calling out chicken curry etc. He got the name of some of the dishes wrong, and we were assumed they got us the wrong dishes. Then the first waiter started having a go at him and the two of them had a brief heated exchange. After this they just chucked the remaining dishes on the table and left.

The food itself was quite nice. We had ordered the Lamb Badshahi, which tasted nice and the portions were fine. We also ordered a chicken curry that had very little chicken and loads of large pieces of onion! The prawn dish and the biriyani were fine.

Now back to the service. Before we had finished our main, again the waiter was back to ask us if we had finished. We said no, then another waiter came and asked the same question. It just put us off so we left without any dessert!

The next day a couple of us had dodgy stomachs! What a lovely night out!
