Brazas has a very friendly, clean and inviting atmosphere. They have afantastic range of menu choice for both eat-in and take away across theMediterranean continent. I loved the idea of the kitchen being at the frontand open. Customers being able to watch their food being prepared and cookedis a definite plus. Food was delicious. The Greek salad was Crispy, freshand with just the right amount of seasoning and dressing. I went for thechargrilled salmon with an avocado and watercress salad. It was large andcooked to perfection. I could not resist the homemade chocolate and Bailey'scheesecake although I would have liked to see more Baileys and lesschocolate. Overall the feeling I got from visiting Brazas for the first timewas a friendly, family run gem that should be a definite visit for anyoneliving in the Brixton/Herne Hill/Tulse Hill area.

This was my second visit to Brazas and it was well worth the wait, the food if possible has stepped up in quality and the selection of homemade deserts and gateaux on offer can only be described as heaven to those of us with a sweet tooth.
Starting with the Tiger Prawns which I would thoroughly recommend, I then moved on to the Lamb for my main, cooked "medium" exactly as per my request. I completed my dining experience with the Baileys/Chocolate Cheesecake which I will definitely be having again. All washed down with a glass of crisp Rose wine and strong expresso at the end.
There was a nice flow of clientele throughout the evening and a definite buzz in the atmosphere of this lovely little eatery tucked away on Tulse Hill, 2 minutes from the playground entrance to Brockwell Park. A lovely way to spend a Thursday evening and one I will be repeating again very soon..

i live close and im so lucky i do! brazas is my favourite place to eat, and i have taken many friends there who can see why!! please dont miss out on this place! excellent value for money. you can spend a whole evening/afternoon here and feel completely comfortable without spending a fortune. all the food is amazing, the ribs with fries and corn on the cob is my personal fave but on saying that i havent seen a dish come out which doesnt look amazing. desserts are heavenly too, and there is always something new to try, baileys cheesecake is one of my faves. the family who run this place are just so lovely too, and often end up giving me a free dessrt, coffee etc! i dont know how they make any money, they really should put their prices up! its too cheap for what you get, 3.45 for an amazing dessert is just not enough! i would recommend this place to anyone, please go before they start opening other places, youd miss out on the family friendly atmosphere!

This restaurant is surprising in that part of Brixton.

You wouldn't expect such good food right at the bottom of Tulse Hill, normally more take away sort of places.

Food wise, I enjoyed particularly my main meal, salad and seabass. Good product, well prepared, although a bit on the oily side, but originally presented. The starters - cod cakes - was fine - wished for a bit of greens with it though, but good quantity, well cooked - but the dessert was to die for - meringue, fruit and crème Chantilly... Diet freaks, stay away...

Overall, an excellent evening, service with a smile, always helpful and efficient. Loved it and will go back definitely...

A lovely little eatery in Tulse Hill. I had “Tiger Prawns” as a starter, a dish I would thoroughly recommend with lovely garlic butter, delightful Salsa dip and fresh bread.
My main “The Steak” and dessert of Marble Cake” were very generous. The services was just the right mix off attentiveness, without overcrowding us. Brazas also has a great little deli at the front of house so if you don’t have time to have a meal you can still experience their cuisine. Being just 5mins from where I live I am surprised I haven’t ventured in before but will definitely be doing so again!

Brazas is London's best kept secret. Infact I was in two minds whether to write this review as I don't want it to become so popular that it becomes difficult to get a table... BUT the food is fantastic in this family run restaurant and it would be unfair to keep it a secret. The mains of piri piri chicken, and steak are my two personal favourites, however lamb eaters have advised me that the lamb is delicious too. As for the desert, the chocolate and bailey's cheesecake puts Gordon Ramsay to shame, and the Pavlova (Meringe) is better than any NZ or Australian die hard could hope to make. Be prepared for some calories, but it all tastes so good it somehow just doesn't seem to matter. Finally, as other people have commented in previous reviews, what makes this place so special (in addition to the wonderful food), is the warm and friendly family who run the restaurant. It is like a home away from home, and you are always made to feel welcome. In return for sharing this south London gem, all I ask is that you don't spread the word too far so that we can still always get a table whenever we go there!

I adore this restaurant. Its run by a lovely family who really care about their food and their customers. The food is yummy and home made - the nutmeg and spices cheese cake is to die for! Its also good place to go with children, or with groups of friends. I had my birthday there with a group of friends and had really good time without it costing a fortune. And their hamburgers make a great hangover cure...

This is the most delightful family-run restaurant. It feels like you are on holiday and you are made really welcome. The food is excellent, homely fare in big portions. Try the fish cakes, the piri piri chicken or the ribs, all brilliant. Bur save some space for oner of their amaxing puds. Very reasonable prices, even for the wine list which includes some great Portuguese bottles. A most relaxing place for lunch or dinner.
Highly recommended.
