I went to this restaurant with a group of mates after having played a friendly football match in the nearby Mile End Athletics Arena. Despite the potential for us to be rowdy (we're a bunch of quiet lads really), the chap put us in the lovely garden area at the back of the restaurant upon my request. It was a lovely summers day and was the perfect setting for an evening meal. This part of the restaurant reminded me of restaurants I'm accustomed to seeing in somewhere in Southern Turkey perhaps. Considering the location, the beautiful ambience came as a surprise. Sadly as I stepped outside the restaurant to make a phone call, my group had decided to migrate to a different restaurant - the Orange Room across the road (a much less inspiring, alas cheap place to eat). I believe the reason for this was because we felt we were disturbing the couples sat nearby and the price could have been overly expensive. Although I'm not convinced that was the case. If nothing else - it's an interesting story.

All in all, I'd love the opportunity to go back as this one seems like a hidden gem.

This was a really delightful experience. We were nervous going in because it was empty. The menu is really interesting. Lots to choose from and being a vegetarian I was worried it might all be meat. No worries, there are lovely starters, sort of meze type stuff and lots of others. We ordered different aubergine dishes which were delicious. My meat eating friend had a lamb dish and he said the meat was incredibly tender. I had some kind of vegetable dumpling things which were fabulous in a sort of yogurt sauce. ( I think!) fantastic
The waiter goes off an cooks wonderful flat bread for you in the corner of the room.
You can bring your own drink if you want to. We just had a big pot of mint tea.
The service was really fantastic. Just a shame it wasn't full as this would have made for a better atmosphere.
Never mind, the lovely waiter and the afghani music made up for it. It has an outside part that backs onto Mile End Park. I'll be back to spend a summer evening or two there.
I never write reviews usually, but this place DESERVES to be busier.
