Visited La Cave recently for dinner. For the price of the food (about £100 for 2 courses for 2 and a bottle of wine) we expected something delicious, good wine and a fun evening. There was one nice waiter, and that is unfortunately where the compliments end, the waitress was surley, asked abruptly "what do you want?" when taking our order, the starter took an hour to arrive, the wine was not good and the food was as indifferent as it gets... we only wished we were at home with a bowl of pasta and a decent glass of wine. I could not recommend this place in any way, the waiter didn't react to the indifferent utterance of "fine" when asked how our food was, and the waitress who took the money clearly wasn't remotely interested. Despite looking nice as you come in, there are only about 2 tables which would be good to sit at, the rest are either elbow to elbow with other couples, or at the mouth of the kitchen where the chef rings a school bell as each of his concoctions is ready to be taken out. We were dissappointed and strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
