Really good service and very polite. The food was good too and not terribly pricy either. The environment inside was professional and clean looking. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant when we ordered (this was mid-afternoon) our food arrived very quickly and we were given free soft drinks (alcohol was available too I believe)as part of a current deal. The only critical thing I might say was that if you require very clean toilets then you will be disappointed as the mens' at least was not very well kept.

We were booked into another restaurant but it was shut when we got there. Masala invited us in with an offer of free drinks and a 30% discount for our group of 8. We sat down and the staff were very attentive without rushing us. Food arrived in good time and was all fantastic. excellent flavours and some interesting dishes on the menu. Good value and would recommend

After being tempted in by the offer of 2 free beers, a bottle of wine and 30% off the bill. We were all very disappointed with the whole experience. The free beer was half a bottle and the wine resembled vineger.
We waited approximately an hour for our meal to arrive, only to find parts were wrong - plain rice instead of pilau etc.
Food itself was actually alright but by that time were in no mood to compliment them.
As the bill arrived, they had stuck to their word and given us 30% off but added a 12.5% service charge - suffice to say they didnt get a tip. Never again!

I had the unfortunate pleasure of eating here recently. The standard of service was the worst I have ever experienced. We were offered a number of beers and 2 bottles of wine for a group of 6. We told the waiter that one of us wasn't eating and he decided to charge her £3.50 for a glass of wine which she didn't drink. The waiter was incredibly rude throughout the meal and it took 20 minutes for him to get a glass of water for one of our party. They also added a large service charge to make up for the 30% off the final bill offer even though the receipt said service not included. Never again! There are so many other better restaurants to choose from!

This was my second attempt at dining on Brick Lane. We were offered the moon by the guy on the street, specifically two beers (one more than everyone else!), except of course these were half pints, not full pints like everyone else. 30% off, etc. Service was ok, though the staff were rushed, abrupt and generally didn't seem to be paying any attention, except when it came to offering more drinks and up-sells to everything.

The starters were extremely small and honestly the most poor I've ever had at an Indian restaurant. Tiny samosas, extremely dry pakoras and flavourless onion bhajis. The mains turned things around a bit and were quite tasty, authentic and reasonable portions for the price.

I'm still not convinced we received everything we were promised by the guy luring us in, but honestly it didn't really matter anyway as we had enough food and drinks. Came to about £14 a head. Overall, it was only ok and I won't be going back. There are many, many better and less frustrating places to eat good curry than Masala and Brick Lane in general.

ive been into to a few resturants in london as i work in the city, and have to say ther food is very good. we had a discount of 20% and a drink on the house. me and three others eat ther and bill came to about £12 per head, it was cheap for a 3 course meal- i would of payed more than twice the amount if i was to go a rest next to my work place (towerbride). ill go ther again and would recomend to friends and family.

We were approached in the treet in true brick lane style and offered 30% off, 3 free drinks and 2 popadums.

It took 30 mins for popadums to arrive and then was only half eash, a few more stale ones came out later.

The main course arrived and a number of dishes were wrong, 12 assorted naans were stacked up, which menat every one ended up with the wrong one, and when certain ones were missing, the reply was 'your friends must have eaten them'!

The second and third round of free drinks obvoiusly never appeared!

What food thay actually did manage to bring out was actually quite good.

Would not go back there again, especially when there are much better places around!

I must say, this was one of the poorest overall experiences I have had on brick lane. Sudden changes in pricing, orders incorrect, and when we confronted the waitstaff regarding the delivery of the wrong food their response was asking us who took our order. Considering about three different men were serving us, we did not know which one made the mistake. Finally, they decided it was our fault for not remembering which member of their staff ultimately took the particular order. We decided to just continue on with the meal and the surprise dishes were not very good, however a new experience. Then when the bill came, we had been charged for the correct food items and the mistaken items. When confronted again, they removed one of the two extra dishes, and explained they could not be certain if we had received the items or not. Then we asked why the prices were different from the menu, they responded that various charges which were applied however not mentioned on the actual menu. If you want to go out and have a good meal at the right price, I would not recommend this mystery of a company.
