All In London Review
Spicy, zingy meats burst with flavour
Inside Khanage it’s bright and canteen-like, more like an extended takeaway than a restaurant experience. There is a licence for alcohol but you can also take your own, a good option given the limited selection.
The menu is vast and features plenty of meat, some cooked in the clay tandoor oven, as well as traditional curries; all dishes are labelled as either mild or hot. We tuck into meat samosas flavoured with fennel seeds and wrapped in wispy thin pastry, and lamb tikka that bursts with flavour, cooked in the tandoor oven. A whole trout, also cooked in the tandoor, is milder but still fragrant, laid out on a bed of grilled onions.
The mains are tasty and hot; achari gosht is a staple dish of the region which employs spices normally used for pickling, and mustard seeds and bright red chilies peek out of the sauce and give the lamb a spicy, zingy flavour. The chicken bhuna is the fieriest dish so far, with a thick sauce made with peppers and onions containing pieces of succulent chicken. The daal makhni doesn’t scrimp on spices either but is indulgently creamy. We pair the sauces with crunchy kulcha naan, sprinkled with sesame seeds, as well as buttery and garlic versions, exquisite when paired with the lentils. Flavours are impressive, and a meal averages just £10 a head.

Have been to Khanage 3 times so far and it keeps getting better. Great food and good service. Took my children last time and they enjoyed the food. Wide choice on the menu, we had the mixed grill last time and the fish, which were great. So impressed I have asked them to cater a party. Worth going.

Like to think I was one of the first to discover this gem of an Indian restaurant when it opened just before Xmas. Took advantage of their Buffet Lunch @ (the introductory price of) £4.99 (which includes Dessert). Excellent value. Have been back several times as the offering changes on a daily basis.
Agree with everything Laila has said ...the food is superb. Although I think the description of "canteen like" is a tad harsh....plus have given it a slightly higher score. Additionally, the owner and waiters are really friendly/welcoming.
Morden is a bit of a "culinary desert" so Khanage is a really welcome addition to the area. And located only minutes from the station & bus terminal, it's really easy to get to.
