Encouraged by the excellent reviews, I had chosen Tatra to introduce friends to Polish cuisine. And what a disappointment! Despite reservation 3 weeks in advance, the table wasn’t ready for us, we had to wait for another party to leave. Other then that the service was good.

The only dish that was actually fresh was the herring salad and crumble on the apple and rhubarb crumble. Everything else was definitely prepared in advanced, frozen and reheated – including pierogi!
In both duck and pork shrank, meat was very dry and very unpleasant to eat. Dumplings accompanying the duck were burned to the point that they were not edible. Seriously - nothing was fresh there (not even the cabbage side dishes!) – not tasty, really not nice to eat; in fact we haven’t finished the main courses.

Cream brule and crumble were OK, however cheesecake clearly wasn’t as both portions went back to the kitchen only half eaten.

This was an important dinner for me and I deeply regret choosing Tatra.

Perhaps the food was nice and fresh there in the past – not anymore!

Very, very poor quality of food.

I went to Tatra for a dinner with some friends. I am Polish and I wanted to introduce my British friends to Polish cuisine. I have to say that I made a very good choice of a restaurant! The food was absolutely superb and all my friends loved it. We had russian dumplings, mixture of blinis and some marinated herring to share for a starter followed by Pork Shank (very impressive), roast duck (great both in taste and the presentation of the dish), Leczo and Golabki (both very tasty as well). I will definitely come back and bring more friends.

I went to Tatra on my birthday in July with a group of friends and loved the place.
Everything was perfect, absolutely great service, girls were charming, decor and candles on the tables make light really soft and relaxing, good menu and wine list, long list of polish spirits, liqueurs and beers. Restaurant is perfect for every occasion. The starters were out of this world and I was tempted to call it a night, as nothing could surpass that, but then out came the main course - Pork shank,Roasted duck, Pierogi, Roasted Cod, and Gulash - ALL was perfect presentation and taste were absolutely wonderful. Then the dessert, I had the chocolate one - again top marks. The service was good, the food was amazing and house wine was wonderful. I must say this place is very good and highly recommended, and it was perfect choice. For those who would like to try Polish and Eastern European kitchen: you can not find better place for your food experience!

I went to Tatra Restaurant for Sunday lunch. Me and my friend have ordered together two types of dumplings for starters followed by duck with Silesian dumplings and my friend had the ‘Golabki’ (mixture of minced pork meat and rice wrapped in cabbage leaves and cooked in tomato sauce). The starter was ok, not impressing though. I was particularly disappointed with my main course. The duck wasn’t fresh and the meat was dry, very hard and not tasty, I couldn’t eat it. In addition I have been served completely different dumplings with the duck that the menu stated. I got ‘leniwe’ with herbs dumplings instead of ‘Silesian’ ones (completely different recipe). The waitress who served us instead of informing me that they have run out of the Silesian dumplings and giving me option to decide whether I still want to go for that particular dish, kept silent hoping that I wouldn’t notice the difference. I found it very unprofessional, and not customer focused.

I recently enjoyed Diner at Tatra and was blown away by the excellent service, quality of food and size of the portions! Word of warning - do not eat before you go there!!:) The food absolutely is delicious and the wait staff were lovely, making us feel welcome from the moment we openned the door. The Home made flavoured vodka selection is excellent!!!
I will be returning to Tatra in the not too distant future!
