Easter Sunday 2011, so wasn't expecting it to be rammed. We arrived at 1300hrs for the carvery, but there must have only been two tables in use. Restaurant was clean. Food appeared a bit lackluster, but it was fairly tasty. Staff attentive and polite. If you are expecting the Chicago Rib Shack, don't bother! Felt more like a retirement home canteen.

Some friends of a friend recommended that we try Minskys because it was 'true New York in London' (they were from the US so we took their recommendation at face value). So last weekend we booked, and we were looking forward to a relaxed informal lunch, but unfortunately the slow service and tepid food, coupled with having to wait literally ages to pay left us all disappointed. The menu was uninspiring, and we were all a bit surprised that the first impressions were so far adrift of what we were led to believe that we thought that we might have come to the wrong place! Things dodn't get any better when trying to both add an aditional side dish, and order another drink having once given out initial order. This 'unexpected' change led to considerable confusion, and was originally stated as the reason for the slow service. Well, the manager did apologise and said that Minsky's were not usually slow, but did not offer any compensation. So, for all you budding Minskyites; don't bother, it is not worth the wait or the money.
