Set in a dramatic space on the top floor of the former Dickins & Jones department store in the heart of London’s West End, aqua kyoto epitomises contemporary Japanese cuisine.

Aqua kyoto serves award-winning chef Paul Greening’s innovative dishes blending traditional Japanese technique with the finest British produce, including many foraged ingredients. Sushi and sashimi are made-to-order at an open sushi kitchen, together with an array of fresh produce and skewers grilled on a sumibiyaki charcoal grill.

Signature dishes include crab salad with tomato dashi bubble, seaweed, suckling pork belly with eel, root vegetables, wakame, jade oil. From the sushi menu, soft-shell crab rolls with tobiko and wasabi are not to be missed, nor is the signature dessert, Forest Floor.

I love going here, the way it is lit and decorated gives it a great ambience and the staff are efficient and fun. The cocktails are gorgeous but are a little pricey. Would definitely impress a first date or someone that hasn't been to London before, its a treat.
