Portuguese chef Nuno Mendes caused a huge stir when he opened Viajante in 2010. Mendes’ CV includes working at El Bulli in Spain and more recently hosting the Loft Supperclub from his flat on Kingsland Road. His tasting menus offering molecular cuisine (foams, dehydrated ingredients, unlikely flavour injections and sous-vide) continue to capture imaginations, long after the public’s obsession with Heston Blumenthal began.
Viajante is located in the super hip venue that used to be Bethnal Green’s Town Hall, and is where the stunning art deco Town Hall Hotel is located.
