Just happened across this place after work on a Friday and I can finally say that I found a great Indian restaurant in London.
Service was really friendly, ambience was relaxing and, most importantly, the food was fantastic!

I have been to Anwar's three times now, absolutely lovely restaurant hidden on a side street off Tottenham Court road. The menu is constantly changing and adapting, there is now a really good selection of vegetarian dishes. Best of all the food is really tasty, probably the best curry I have ever eaten in a restaurant and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is really well decorated and creates a lovely atmosphere, waiters/waitresses very attentive. I will continue to go back!

Unsure why there are so many positive reviews for this place. Maybe I just went there on a bad day but there was very little to endear it to myself and most of the guys that came with me. It is impressive that it has been in the same location for over 30 years but the food for me was of a very low quality. Of note was, what will always be known as ‘bone curry’, a sauce with no meatless bone.
I’ll give it a couple of extra stars for the desert of lovely doughnut balls and the fact that it was a buffet with no limit on visits to the bone curry.
If I was you I would walk a few hundred yards to Great Titchfield Street and visit my favourite curry house in the area, Shikara. A couple more quid will get you a meal that is far more edible.

A very warm and cosy restaurant. Their Bombay Biryani is my favourite. Forget classy decor - sparse and purely functional. Staff very friendly and the whole atmosphere is most welcoming. I have seen it evolve for over 25 years now. A great place to put on weight. Andrew.

The cage football stadium is near Anwars. Sometimes I dream of playing with friends against the New-York Ramsey side and the local rude-boys. i score lots of goals and we demolish everybody. Then the fans chant my name because I am a hero... "Billy" - "Billy" - "Billy" !!! We then all go for a post match curry at Anwars and I am so happy.
i usually wake up at this point and order another onion baji. if only.

A delightful little eaterie, definitely in my top 10 Indian resteraunts on Grafton Way. Anwar's manages to merge together all the spices of the East, microwaved to perfection, for a reasonable price. Whether having a quiet meal alone or dining with company, Anwar's always makes you feel like you're amongst friends. And as for Anwar himself, what can I say ladies - think Omar Sharif's better looking, more charming brother. I wouldn't mind a bit of his meat'n'two veg ;)
A must for all curry fans.

whenever being alone just gets too much I know I can rely on Anwars to take my lonely blues away. Food is good and inexpensive and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Although much has changed in Bloomsbury and Euston since my day, this gem of a restaurant remains. The food is great - the tables clean - and even if dining by oneself, one never feels lonely, thanks to the friendly staff. A pleasant restaurant indeed.

I first went to Anwars when I was at University. Back then, it was much the same as it is now. Small and intimate.
I like Anwars very much. Definetly in my top 7 resturants in the London. They always make he feel at home, whether eating alone or with friends. The food is generally very good, and never too hot for my mouth! ...and service is always with a smile.
Thanks Anwars! :0)

Anwars is a wonderful Indian restaurant that serves a delicious variety of home made curries with real value for money. I particularly like the homely feel to this quiet establishment. It is as if you are always dining with friends.
I imagine this would be the perfect place to come to after enjoying a pint with friends at the near-bye Grafton arms pub. If only.
