The Lido Cafe is a modern British restaurant open all day. We serve award winning breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in one of London’s most unique settings. Using seasonal ingredients when they are at their best and most abundant we create monthly changing lunch and and dinner menus. From the sourdough bread we use for our Breakfasts, to the oil we triple cook our chips in, we take great time and care, working with small producers to find the best ingredients we can.

Our all European wine list has been thoughtfully selected, and we offer many of these by the carafe and glass.
We have just launched a menu of craft beers (all brewed in London) that are great on their own, but even better when paired with the right food.

All In London Review

Excellent value at this picturesque restaurant

London weather is generally crap, granted, but when it does summertime it does it beautifully. We don’t have sandy beaches (unless you count the makeshift one that pops up by the South Bank) and alfresco restaurants that benefit from a view of the sea, but we do have places like the Lido Café, with an outdoor terrace facing the Olympic-sized Brockwell Lido, and a Grade II listed art deco building housing the gym. Take that Med.

The menu changes monthly, and today’s is appropriate for the unusually scorching weather: we start with a cold gazpacho and a salad of black olives, tomato and cucumber, and half a pint of prawns in their shells with a pot of pungent roast garlic aioli. Both are just around a fiver.

Then there’s a mackerel bap, which has a breaded fillet of mackerel with chunky tartare sauce, and a little pot of peas (not mushy). A nicely charred dry-aged long horn beef burger with gherkin and red onion is made extra sinful by adding bacon and Emmental. The burger comes with triple cooked chips with the skin on, which gives a further savoury note. Even a simple English garden salad is well thought out, with peas, green beans, spring onions and lettuce in a light mustardy dressing.

Dessert is baked peach with mascarpone and chopped almonds, it’s served hot and its warm vanilla scent it’s better suited to other seasons. But the aperol spritzes are a very summery take on a negroni, and serving Ubuntu Cola, their fair trade alternative to Coca Cola, is a great touch.

The Lido Café is open all year round, and regardless of whether you want to do a few laps around the pool or not, the food at this picturesque restaurant is excellent value.
