Seasonal British food is served at Source using ingredients from a select group of suppliers.
Source has recently unveiled a fabulous former ice storage warehouse that has been transformed into the perfect events space. This spectacular room has been completely stripped back to reflect the historical time it represents.

All In London Review
Dockside restaurant that focuses on seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients
The pretty restaurant is set back from the road, overlooking the dock and the moored boats that inhabit it. The décor is part industrial chic part nautical, with an exposed kitchen and jars of condiments on display. It’s cosy and romantic, and is clearly a hit in the summer as there are tables outside with an even better view of the dock. Staff are chatty and super-efficient; the menu seems to have lots to choose from, starting with an impressive cocktail list that has things like the Vieux Carre, which sounds like it could floor even the most adept drinkers with its combination of cognac, rye, Benedictine and vermouth.
We start with fried ricotta dumplings, moreish parcels of cheese fried in breadcrumbs, with beetroot ketchup. Crab on thick toasted sourdough with brown crab butter tastes fresh and well-seasoned, complemented by charred spring onion and chilli. The artichoke dip is a twist on comfort food: quartered artichoke hearts are covered in hot melted cheese, served with more sourdough.
Both our meat and fish mains are perfectly cooked. Leg of lamb is impressively tender, with aubergine caponata, lentils, potatoes and ricotta; the pollock flakes away to the touch, with a buttery flavour, served with beans and crunchy celery.
When Source opened in 2014 it took over the site of Ransome’s Dock, a restaurant that closed down after two decades, much to the chagrin of the locals. This impeccable eatery makes up for their loss.
