Had a great evening with my 5 sisters last weekend at this wonderful restaurant. Great food, excellent service. Received complimentary deserts for my sister's birthday and all the staff sang! Thank you Carlo!

A hidden gem.

My wife and I were in London for her birthday. As we both love Italian food and having read the reviews we visited O Sole Mio.

From the moment we walked in the door, to when we left, we received excellent friendly polite service and excellent food.

We were initionally sat by the window but as it was very cold outside it wasn't the warmest table in the restaurant so we asked to be moved to another table. It wasn't a problem; we just had to walk to our new table, the staff moved everything else.

We agree with another reviewer about the homemade yellow noodles with spring onions, bacon and peas, it was amazing.

Whilst talking to the owner he became aware it was my wife's birthday. A little later we received our deserts accompanied by all the staff singing 'Happy Birthday'.

Thank you to everyone at O Sole Mio. We will be back.

Stopped here at the end of April for an early lunch after an overnight flight. The waitstaff were very solicitous, and seemed to genuinely care. The aromas wafting from the kitchen were heavenly. The food (a pasta dish with peas, spring onions, and bacon) arrived promptly-it was yummy, both texture and flavor were very pleasing, and the ingredients tasted fresh, including the pasta itself. The portion was extremely generous, thus very reasonably priced. I look forward to an opportunity to be a repeat customer--and highly recommend the restaurant!

We were In London For a Short break stopping at Sidney Hotel - We saw the restaurant on way back after a hectic day and called in- Im so glad we did the meal and service was excellent could not be faulted, the staff could not do enough to help us, meal was resonably priced and the food was perfect. If we are in that area of London again would definatley go back!!

My wife and I visited twice recently - 10 March 2010 in the evening and 12 March for lunch. The service was friendly and welcoming and we were shown to a table and asked if it was satisfactory. We were then asked if we wanted drinks and were offered the bread basket, butter and olives (this was charged at £1 each as stated at the top of the menu although you would notice this only after you had been served).
The menu was varied and very competitively priced with the items on the extensive specials board being a bit more expensive.
Time from order to delivery was about 15 minutes, perhaps a little long but well worth the wait as every dish we had was very well cooked and presented, all ingredients were obviously fresh and of high quality. Servings were generous - a good place to go if you are really hungry!
We were visiting London for the usual museum and show fare and found O Sole Mio by chance but will revisit the next time we are in the area.

Very good italian restaurant. You need to wait 25min for your dishes but it worth it. I just think the manager is not correct about the bill, you should check it at the end of your meal because you will pay for the bread and the olive but the price isn't write anywhere.

O Sole mio is fantastic! Tasty, delicous authentic Italian food and very good value for money.
I go regularly for take away pizzas too, delicous and 10% off the price on a take away. For 14 quid for two large, properly italian oven cooked pizzas you can't go wrong!

I often go to O sole Mio and everytime I have had great nights out there. The food is very good value for money, centrally located, good choice of drinks, funny and often folkloristic waiters.

We've been dining at o Sole Mio last time over 6 months ago: definitely the best italian restaurant ever tasted abroad (we're italians). We usually stay at the Melbourne House Hotel just a few meters from there and at the end of the day we're so tired that a good restaurant so close is great! The staff is friendly and quick and our children were happy to eat pasta and pizza and go to bed without starving! We always eat there at least twice when we stay in London 5 or 6 days! Highly recommended!

The food was just good, nothig special. I didn´t like the manager´s attitude. He was rude and he forced us to pay a tip by writing the amount he considered by hand in our check (we were just two persons). That left me a bad impression of the whole experience.

I have been dining at Solo Mio for over three years now. It is one the best mid-priced Italian restaurants in town and by far and away the best in the Pimlico/Victoria area. The service is friendly and efficient and the ambiance fine. The menu is extensive and the standard Italian dishes are all brilliant. The day's specials are are my recommendation. The sea bass is excellent and always perfectly cooked. The king prawns arrabiata are quite the best I have ever tasted. Other stunning dishes are the Vongola and linguine and the hare and farfalle. I cannot praise this restaurant enough. The house red is great value and a great dinner for two with a bottle is around £50 - the best value in town.

I'm sorry the first reviewer had such a bad experience; like the other 2 reviewers, my husband and I simply loved this restaurant--so much that we ate there 2 out of our 5 nights in London. The service was great--friendly and attentive; the wine was excellent; the food delicious. I can happily recommend both the pasta (I had quattro formaggio) and the pizza (cheese, again--and oh, the crispy crust!) as well as the gelato. The parma ham and melon starter was great. My husband had both pasta and chicken and loved them both.
We loved the atmosphere, the staff and the food and when we're in London again, we will definitely be back!

I have just returned from dinner and felt the need to share how bad the service was. Orders were mixed up on each course (order taken by the manager)and I had to wait a course to get a new drink after ordering it. The food was reasonable but the mixed up orders took away from what was wanted. At £20 a head for 2 courses and a drink I felt it was over priced. Upon payment my card was taken from my sight to which I ordered back, as they had a hand held payment terminal.

So far, the best italian restaurant I found in London!

A must: The Melanzana Parmegiano!

My husband and I stayed in the Huttons Hotel just down the street from this great restaurant. The food here was great! We returned often during the 5 days we stayed in London.

My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza and I became addicted to the crespolini -- it's a thin crepe filled with chicken and spinach and covered in a white cheesy-cream sauce. To die for! The pizza was thin crust, garlicky and cheesy. Everything was very hot and fresh.

The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and they were always very polite and accomodating to our needs.

I'm bringing my mother to London with me in October, and a stop at O Sole Mio is a definite must!
