Absolutely superb. I haven't had better Japanese food outside Japan.

A true gem, indeed! One that I want to keep a secret for as long as possible. The sushi/sashimi selectiuon is fresh and comes in a generous portion. The sashimi tastes and melts like a ripe sweet avacdo on my palate. The menu consists of a wide selection of authentically prepared Japanese food.

I suspect that the reason there are so few reviews is that we want to keep this little gem a secret. It really feels like stepping into a back street restaurant in Tokyo: the food, decor, staff and many of the customers are genuinely Japanese.
The sushi and sashimi served from the sushi bar or to the tables are superb. The menu of other classic dishes: kushiage, tempura, noodles, yakitori, etc. are all done very well. A case of a large menu not meaning suspect quality.
However, our favourite is still the sashimi/sushi and is what has kept us coming back for more since Cho-San first opened.

what can I say... the best Sashimi and Sushi I have eaten outside of Japan. Great food, great service and great people. Cho-san has been around for many years and the reason being all of the above.

I'm really suprised to be leaving the first reveiw of this restaurant as it's been there for 5 years at the very least to my knowledge! Although it doesn't look amazing from the outside, the staff are welcoming & helpful and the atmosphere very warm and relaxing. I have so far converted 5 friends & my boyfriend to the delights of Japanese food here, even those who don't eat fish have enjoyed an exquisite 7 course meal and been amazed at the diversity & taste. Totally recommended!
