Ichiban Sushi

It's true their rivals round the corner are always much fuller. Today though there seemed to be a reason - supporters of former kitchen staff were having a massive protest outside at Ichiban's failure to pay holidays and maternity pay over years and continued refusal to cough up. They said its in the courts.

I used to love this place even though I'm not normally into Japanese food - the food really had that home-made feel about it and was good value for money. But not any more - if they can't treat their staff properly I'l be staying away till they can assure me they have sorted this out.

I still cant believe fujiyama round the corner gets so much more custom than ichiban. Ichiban serves better fod, with a lovely decor, and spacious tables. Service is very friendly and the woman who owns the place is particularly attentive. Green curry is my personal fave. The sushi is great too, and although has less selection than fujijama i think its better, fresher, crisper, and just yummy! Enjoy!
