It's true their rivals round the corner are always much fuller. Today though there seemed to be a reason - supporters of former kitchen staff were having a massive protest outside at Ichiban's failure to pay holidays and maternity pay over years and continued refusal to cough up. They said its in the courts.
I used to love this place even though I'm not normally into Japanese food - the food really had that home-made feel about it and was good value for money. But not any more - if they can't treat their staff properly I'l be staying away till they can assure me they have sorted this out.
