I was at Thai Rice yesterday after an enjoyable afternoon of shopping at Portabello market and this place exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, the noodles were cooked perfectly (just slightly al dente), the food is honestly price, the service was superb. I would definately recommend this place. Oh and if you're here on a date the music and atmosphere is just right too.

I regularly dine at Thai Rice after being taken there on a date. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I've introduced all my friends and colleagues to the place, and they too have become regulars. You have to try it!

I was wondering around on a hot & sunny Sunday afternoon in Portobello Road, not really wishing 2 be there as my head to pounding from the night before but the girlfriend insited that she must going shopping. when even more excusted from the hussel and bussel of the market when we came across Thai Rice. Quite truely a hidden gem. The service was fairly standard but carried lots of charm and fun. After making as feel more an comfitable and bring a smile back to my face, which beleive me was hard to do on that day, we sit there watching the world go by enjoying some of the best thai food I have eaten here in the UK. Truely somewhere u must try. I cant recommend this place highly enough. A MUST

Decor ok- Service is without doubt a little lame! After specifically asking for no onions in my mates pad thai it came with not only normal onions but red ones (we had waited 30 mins for this!). Twenty mins later it arrived w/out any faults! When asked for more tap water the waiter replied "yes i'll bring you the tap!" Then they had the audacity to add service charge on our bill! Food was average! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

On a hot day with low blood sugar, Portobello Road is not the best place to be, but if you can make it all the way to the end (past the flea market) you'll get really great and cheap (avg 7 pounds for main course) thai dishes - everything from pad thai to a variety of curries in decently sized portions, perfect for a sit-down, open air lunch. The decor is simple but cool and you'll get a much more low-key, local crowd here than around Notting Hill's tube stop.

A charming neighbourhood restaurant that serves beautifully presented although very small portions. However, beware, they have been known to overcharge, claiming you ordered "double helpings" when you haven't. You will get an apology but not a refund or compromise. So check your bill carefully. It took many visits for me to find this out.
