If you're looking for fresh, good quality food in a relaxed atmosphere then Vasis is the place to go. Service is highly personalised and unpretentious. We are locals and love spending a quiet evening here a couple of times a month, eating outside on a summer evening is particularly recommended!

We had dinner at the Vasis on Thursday night. Starters were both good but the best was the amazing seabass we had as a main course. It was definitely the best fish we ever had not only in London but the whole UK. Fine fresh fish, cooked on the grill with a wonderful flavour and well presented. This is a small, cosy, family, unpretentious restaurant, serving good quality fish. The service is very attentive and so we will definitely come back soon.

Poor food, this is not a cypriot restaurant displaying fine cuisine..

Everything about the meal was poor. Deep fried Haloumi, never heard of this way of serving.
Salad consisted of one small leaf of lettuce and one tomato and one slice of cucumber.
I was so disappointed in not receiving authentic cypriot food.
I am agrieved that a restaurant like this in a lovely location can fool joe public in serving this way.

Wrote a review 5 yrs ago. Still come here 2/3 times a week and the food is as good if not better than before!! Keep discovering new dishes that Vasis (Head Chef and part owner with Andy, Rita and Harry) makes for us. This is a family restaurant par excellence. Great food and great service. The fish is the freshest you will have in London (especially Skate wing and Dover Sole) and the meats are a joy (Pork chop with kidney on a charcoal grill, whatmore can you ask for).
If you have not tried this restaurant yet, DO! Just don't eat at Philip's table, please!!!

I have known Vasis & Andy for some 30 years, they have had two restaurants in Cleveland Street, both very successful, and continue to supply excellent food in Maple Street. Having held many of our staff functions in the Restaurant my staff continue to ask for our Xmas Functions to be held there. We have again booked for 2009, I know that whatever we order the food is the very Best, especially the Grilled Prawns, with Greek Salad & 'Mums' Chips, washed down by the very best Greek Wine. If you are lucky Vasis might decide to entertain you with Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner and ends at 3am with freshly cooked Bloaters, washed down with a 60's Vintage Port, only opened for special guests. This is not some 5* Luxury Resturant with flashly food but a genuine family run business serving the very best.

We are a group of Professional Architects,Structural Engineers,Quantity Surveyors,Surveyors and Developers and meet regularly at Vasis ever since they opened and before. We find the food excellent with something different each time. The fish is superb. All at an acceptable cost. Vasis,Andy and Rita couldn't provide a better service or more friendly atmosphere.

Vasis is a must. The restaurant is family run by a team who have been in the busines for over 30+ years. The food is wonderful, the meat and fish exceptional. Friendly staff and good service. We have been going back time and time again for years. The lamp cutlets and port chop (with kidney) are to die for. The chips are thick, clean, crisp and soft inside and you can ask for just a few to taste. Nothing is too muc trouble and some Frank Sinatra in the background adds to the atmosphere. You could walk by this place and not notice it but once you have been in you will go back.

Having visited Vasis restaurant many times I can confidently say the food is absolutely delicious. Especially good is the quality of fish and meat supplied, cooked to perfection. As someone who likes clean meat/fish without sauses, the high standard of the food means you can enjoy tasty food, cooked healthily as I do. Generous portions, very reasonably priced and served by a family staff who are friendly, attentive and professional at all times.

Having travelled the continent extensively over the past 20 years and enjoyed a wide variety of eating establishments, it's good to find a restaurant offering consistently good food at realistic prices. Now permanently resident in the midlands, on our quarterly visits to the capital to see a show, we always make for Vasis for dinner, regardless of the distance to travel from the theatre.

This place has just about all you would want from a family run eaterie,It has rapidly become my favourite.
The decor is very cosy yet contempory the welcome is warm and the service is first class, especially from the short baldy waiter, hes a real card and makes you feel most welcome and explains every dish to you to help you make a great choice which isnt hard cos every dish is great.
The food is superbly cooked and presented, fish is a longterm favourite of mine here, its not offen you find a top class fish restaurant but this 1 has a beautiful enclosed fish ice box on the terrace for you to choose what you want,I do recommend it as a great place to eat and socialise.Go For the King Prawns!

This is a family owned restaurant that serves deliciously cooked fresh food. I tried the humus, chicken kebabs and greek salad, on the terrace and it made me feel like I had spent an evening in the Mediterranean. Wonderful experience!

I love this place. The owner and his staff always greet you as long lost friends. The food is always excellent - tradionally cypriot.I've worked my way through the menu and never had a bad meal. They are particularly accomodating to my partner who is a veggie. Highly recommended

I have been eating here 2/3 times a week since June this year, and I have never had a bad meal. The meats are superbly charcoal cooked and the fish is always fresh. The restaurant has a 'family' feel about it and the service is excellent. Don't normal write reviews but I feel they deserve this. I have nothing to do with the restaurant. I just like eating there. Hope you do too.
