I recently ate at this restaurant, and was shocked how the quality of the food deteriorated.
Positives: Great service, very clean establishment and also very clean toilet facilities. Good ambience.

Negatives: Food was bland, no taste. I have eaten at this restaurant when it was first started and the food was great. I ate there April 2010 and I was disappointed, I am not sure if the chefs taste the food at all.(buffet)
The starters were ok.
But the main courses not good. The vegetable jalfezia was listed as hot(spicy) but it tasted as if it was boiled only with tumeric, the dhal was hard and again no flavor.
The dessert was ok, the fruits were fresh but the gataux was frozen and tasteless. I am not too worried about the desserts, because when I eat at an Indian restaurant I am not there for the dessert but the main course.

I am sure the tourist to Russell Square that are not familiar with indian food may have thought that it was ok.

On a final positive note:
For the price for dinner it was very good for all u can eat. If u are hungry then go to this restuarant, but if u want to eat good tasting Indian food, this is not the place to go.
