The food is good - BUT only go if you've got ALL EVENING to wait. I've been several times and the spped of service is TERRIBLE. On the last occasion it took TWO HOURS (I kid you not) between starter and main course! They're attentive enough offering drinks, but every time you ask where the food's got to they say 'It's just coming!' On balance I would not go there again as it ruins the experience. |

I have been visiting this restaurant regularly for some time now. In the fifty-odd years I have been frequenting Indian restaurants I have never eaten at one which surpassed the cuisine here. In my view the food is exceptionally delicious! To derive full benefit from the extensive menu, however, you do need some knowledge of Indian cookery terms, as some of the rarer dishes are not described in English. The only fault I find is with the staff. The manager does not, unfortunately, exert discipline to enforce a house 'style'. I am not referring to the speed of service, which in general is quite acceptable. But what sometimes spoils a visit is over-attention in the shape of waiters proffering poppadoms/drinks when I've hardly got my coat off and sat down, so to speak. I find this excessively iritating. I have brought it to the attention of the manager, and he has stated that 'things will be pulled together', but they haven't been. My advice is to go in a party of four or more, where your own ambience can ride this 'clutter' out. Also, if it annoys y o u then be sure to complain as I have done. In the end, perhaps they will learn! Whether or not they do, the food is absolutely wonderful! |

The food and service at Lal Bagh is very good and we like to talk to the waiters/waitresses. There is a good choice of food and drink and you can choose spicy,mild or neither! |
