I have eaten at the Polish club on a number of occasions over the years and always found it to offer food of a very high and interesting standard in unusual surroundings but with warm and friendly service. It has a very authentic feeling and what feels like very authentic cuisine. You feel that Lecj Walesenska would not feel anything but at home. The outside area in the summer is also splendid. In these straitened times it is also remarkably good value for money.

Located in a lovely Georgian house at 55 Exhibition Road (forget the postal address), Ognisko is a Polish club, but the restaurant welcomes all.
It serves a few 'traditional' Polish dishes (which are done excellently) with the remainder being 'continental'; we recently dined on lovely venison and guinea fowl.
Prices for main dishes are in the 11-16 pound range; the starters are mostly priced at 7-10 pounds.
The wine list is limited but not overly pricy.
And the service is very professional.
Weather permitting, there is dining in the lovely garden out back.
If you want a delightful meal in an impressive setting, try Ognisko.
