We went to Montefiore for dinner last Saturday. We managed to get the only available table in this small restaurant, and were charmed by the cosy atmosphere.
Our starters (Minestrone and antipasto) were generous portions, and the mains (veal and seabass) were delicious. The sabaione was a fantastic dessert, and large enough to share.
The service was generally quick and friendly. I saw the waiter take back a wine which was clearly corked, and apologize profusely for the trouble (much more agreeable than many restaurants!). Our only trouble was in getting the bill, which took quite a while - the 2 people working were swamped. They should really have more staff on weekends.
