Four of us visited this restaurant for dinner yesterday where we have eaten many times. My husband and I arrived early and I ordered a lemon tea while we waited for the other couple to arrive from the waitress, this was forgotten and had to be re-ordered via the waiter. We each ordered soup and a main course. The waitress took the orders. Two soups came together and we had to ask for the other two. They were served after the first two had been finished. The waiter did offer to heat up the first two soups if we all wanted to eat together.

The mains came up together and were delicious.

There were children running around, I believe they belonged to the waitress and the waitress gave more attention to the children than to the customers. If it wasn't for the waiter who did his best to look after us the meal would have been a very expensive disaster.

I had a really dreadful lunch at this restaurant. The food was quite awful. Watery lockshen soup, dry-as-dust tasteless salt beef, chemical flavoured cucumber and cremated chips. And grossly overpriced into the bargain.
AVOID (I most certainly will!)

I had the misfortune to have lunch at this restaurant on a recent Sunday. I ordered lokshen soup and saltbeef & chips. It was rapidly served, but the soup was very watery and had an unpleasant 'chemical' taste. I can only describe the brisket as the worst I have ever had: completely dry and almost tasteless and the mustard I asked for arrived as a thin yellow liquid (it would have been better to bring a jar of Colmans to the table). The chips were overcooked and ruined. Even the pickled cucumber tasted 'off', for goodness' sake! Finally, I asked for mineral water, and an unopened can was plonked on the table by a bored waitress. I can remember queueing for a table any day of the week in the old Whitechapel Blooms. This place was deservedly virtually empty the day I was there. My advice would be AVOID!!

The first thing to greet us was a sign saying they do not take credit or debit cards - cash only. We were told this was because of a cash flow problem, which indicates to me that the restaurant hasn't long to go! The food was OK - much less in quantity than we used to get there, and of the five things we wanted (there were five of us), three were not available. We had to severely limit what we had, as we couldn't use a credit card, and I only had £90 on me. So we each had a main course, which comes with two side dishes. No bread, no pickles, food just OK. I won't go there again! The waiters and waitress were all great.
