I was looking for a nice authentic asian restaurant to eat on Friday evening with my wife and two children. We came across spice village which seemed to be busy so we thought we would give it a try.
We waited about 10 minutes before any waiters aproached us to give us menues. Once the food was ordered we waited a further 30 minutes before the food arrived. The naans were burnt and it seemed like they were using the same base for the majority of their curries!!!!!!
To be honest we spent £45 on food that was awful to say the least. We will never go back there again. I am asian and have been brought-up on asian food all my life and believe me stay away from this place and spend your money elsewhere.
I don't know what the previous two reviewers are talking about maybe its because they are European and dont know what real Pakistani food should taste like. What a waste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The worst restaurant ever!!!I went with my family for a birthday dinner after having read some positive reviews.I should have seen what was coming after entering the premises. The service was appalling. The place was so noisy and we were shouting at each other to be heard. The staff couldnt even understand when we tried to order and everytime I asked for something he tried to recommend me something else!Reason given for this was that "its not ready and we are busy so it will be a long wait"!After the order was taken and practically chosen by the waiter we had to wait over an hour for the food and even then we couldnt eat because we were either given the curry but not the roti and vice versa! The worst came when we went to pay.I have never been insulted and humiliated in my life! The manager was very rude and complained that we took too long eating our dinner! We had booked our table before hand and when we had arrived at the right time our tables werent even ready, but we were patient and waited around 20mins for them to set us a table. When i mentioned this the manager then had the nerve to complain again that when taking our reservations he didnt know that there were children in our group! What on earth is this man talking about?I then asked him does he have a problem with children coming to his restaurant?I mean is this not a family restaurant? To this he replied "Because children dont eat much" WHAT!!!Ive never met such an idiot in my life! He then went on to complain that his restaurant was busy and he had to accomodate us!What the hell....I reminded him We had booked hours ago and if he was so busy he shouldnt have taken the reservation instead of standing there making us look like we were a nuisance!I dont know how this man runs his restaurant when he has no respect or manners towards his customers.I was paying for food which I couldve cooked better and a ****ty service!I would rate this restaurant -10 if i could. And would never be going to this **** hole AGAIN!!!

one of the best restaurants i've visited since a long time. This resturant was recommended by friends who go there regularly, i've always heard so much about it esspecially now that it has another branch in southall. WELL DONE SPICE VILLAGE, i was well proud of the service provided, and the food well i just cannot find the right words to describe it was SUPERB, EXOTIC, FRESH AND THE TASTE just do not ask, if u really want to know u must TRY for yourself. i would higly recommend this restaurant to all those who are reading this u will not be dissappointed. Me and my husband visit this restaurant every weekends and this weekend were trying out their southall branch. lovely food, fresh and full of aromatic flavours and the spice is just right.

The ambience of the restaurant is lovely, with a large open space remindng us of big halls in 'desi' style with a welcoming light green impression.

The food was not overly spicy, nor too mild. The kebabs are juicy, succulent, with perfect seasoning. The mixed grill was served on a sizzler with caramalised onions which gave us a dry meaty gravy to accompany our kebabs.

The Biriyani gives out the flavour of the meat ut not overpowering the rice, hence you can enjoy the real taste of biriyani.

Daal Makkhai had theperfect colour and consistancy with a very earthy rich flavour.

The Kulcha was soft, and fresh, and the aroma of Tandoor was all over the fresh sesame seeds!

All the food we had was not too oily, neither it had food colouring which made us feel safe and comfortable to eat.

The waiters may need a training regarding the sequence of serving as the main course abruptly followed the starter, but it was a minor detail which one can easily overlook as the food it quite delightful.

The customer service was friendly and fast.

I will definitely go back for another family get together!

I visited this restaurant with my family. The ambience was quite tacky with a big hall and lot of noise as peoples voices carrying accross the restaurant. Perhaps a supermarket is quieter ! The food was not good either and served in a very haphazard manner -- main course followed by starters -- and most food served in very quick succession which made it go cold very soon. The flavour was okay (one starter tasted stale). Overall, its a place with less than mediocre patronage. I wouldn't go there again.

My husband and I have eaten there and got lots of takeaways from spice village and always found the food to be hot and very delicious. For the price we feel it is quality food. Just wish they would deliver.

I'm very surprised with the previous reviewers comments.
The resturant is large and I found it rather impersonnel, more like a large hall.
There where many people in the resturant when we went, but there does not seem to be any sound dampening, so it become very difficult to have a conversation.
Spice village was decorated nicely but becuase it's basically a hall, it was cold and the food became cold in minutes.
The food was spicy, but the fact that it was luke warm did not do it any favors.
Overall, I wouldn't go there again.

Spice village is one of the very few Asian restaurants that take cooking seriously. No matter what dish you try but you'll love it especially fried fish is the best.
