Wonderful restaurant with charismatic hostess. I am a local in Highgate village and I think San Carlo is a treasure. Great food and very good atmosphere. It is a bit expensive, but the quality of the food is superb, there is often entertainment and the service is first class, so you do get value for money. It's a smart but understated place, not pretentious at all, I always feel very welcome and comfortable - if only I could afford to go more often!

I had the best steak I've eaten in a long time at San Carlo, this week.
Lovely staff. Bit on the expensive side, but very nice.
