Proper authentic grub, but would recommend going with someone that speaks the lingo. A homely atmosphere, and you do feel like you are in someones house... a classic case of looks can be deceiving (as this place is not about the decor but the food). If you are the sort that sticks to the same old dish from the local chinese takeaway this might not be for you, but if you like trying something new then this is a good a place to go as any. Make sure you take cash!

A friend from Shanghai took us there. very different to the usual BBQ pork and beef + black bean sauce type of food. feel like having dinner in someone's living room, services was very good, not the robotic waitering services you normally get in any restaurant.

We went with group of 6, typical Shanghai cuisine. You can either order by menu, or go with set meal(min 6ppl), they will make choice for you, from starter until sweets.

This is homecook, not the regular cantonese dishes in China town. Shanghai food tastes lighter, a bit sweet, no chilli. I should mention that this is typical southeast china homecook style. Although the restaurant is not luxury decorated, it feels more like at home.

I do love the food there, and we are planning another visit.
