Desh Indian Restaurant

Used this take away twice recently. Food and service both first class. Do not stint on quantity, although quality is very good.

This is our local takeaway curry house. We have lived in Highbury for several years and only recently started ordering from Desh, based on a recommendation from a local friend. I was put off a little by the exterior. What an idiot. This is an excellent takeaway / delivery. Far better than the over priced Bombay Bicycle company and better than the other takeaways I have tried in the area. The Madras i had tonight was hot, but with all the subtle flavours of the spices coming through. the dahls are excellent and my wife's chicken silsila, which is a sweeter chicken tikka , with mango, was also very good. The service is excellent and they are happy to accomodate changes and take time to explain the flavours of the different dishes. My only complaint is that the okra was a little tough. A great, well priced (£15 for 2 curries, a dahl and rice) curry house with good service. It's busy at the weekends.
