London has more venues where you can puff away on a hookah than you might think. We've put together a list of some of the best...

Located on Edgware Road – where else – Al Dar has been serving the community its Lebanese delicacies for over 12 years. The grilled baby chicken is sublime and you can’t leave without trying the haloumi starter. Al Dar is much more than just a quick-stop shisha spot.

On reading a previously terrible review of Al-dar, I felt I had to write something in defence of what is our department's favourite lunch venue.

Service culture throughout Edgeware road can sometimes be stoic, but it is always efficient, respectful and definitely superior to that you would find in neighbouring Soho.

My colleagues and I have tried most dishes on the menu and all are well prepared, promptly delivered and of more than ample portions. My personal favourite being the Kofta Kish Kash (apologies if incorrect spelling).

Having had enough good lunches there I took my girlfriend after work and we were met with a bustling, lively atmosphere with a broad cross-section of London's foodie clientelle.

Good value, good food and easy to get to. I couldn't ask more of a restaurant. As for what must be an isolated experience outlined above. I would suggest trying it yourself and I suspect you won't be dissapointed.

Most horrible and disgusting experience of customer service I have ever received in any part of the world. The staff were disgustingly rude...the waiter did not speak English and did not take our order right...when we had wrong things delivered, he blamed us and called us liar that we have changed our order and walked away mumbling something....every single waiter was rude and ignorant...the lady Manager (owner) was horrible.she was least bothered and did not even entertain our complaint ...after eating food there we felt sick and vomited...on our way to our car....I wish I could have given my £47.50 to a charity then to the ....disgusting owner who did care.Pls Pls do not ever go to this restaurant....I have eaten in almost all the Arabic restaurants in marble arch but this was the worst for food and service....

The food is bad for value, small portion, nothing authentic, just an extremely ordinarly kebab that you can get anywhere. The service is even worse, waiter is rude and unhelpful. Very disapointing.

My girlfriend and I off and on do drop by at Al-Dar for Lebanese food. We always enjoyed the food there and it is reasonable priced. The service can be very poor when the restaurant get busy and the waiting staff will ignored and be rude to their customers request. I hope they could improve their service because we do like the food.
