Number 22

Arrogant and overpriced.
Staff eager to turn covers quickly. Felt pressured to finish our meal. Not the spanish way of having dinner as we are accustomed (relaxed, convivial and enjoyable). Food however was tasty but overpriced.

NO Spanish traits/character at Number 22

This place is a real local gem. Was a little confused by the other review on here, as the ingredients used are all top-notch, and the cooking is fantastic. Number 22 shouldn't be compared to chain tapas restaurants, but to places like Brindisa and Fino. In that context, I think the food is good value (especially the Sunday paellas - fantastic!). The wine and sherry list is thoughtful and interesting, with really very good prices considering the quality available. Lovely, cosy surroundings, friendly service, and delicious food. I've been a few times now, and will be treating this place as a regular haunt.

This place looks good, and the food is good. My complaint is that the tiny dishes are vastly overpriced (e.g. 5 prawns in a sauce for £6), as is the wine. Be prepared to fork out a lot of cash and leave hungry.
