Brilliant restaurant! Fantastic food. Latest menu even better than before. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. Have taken friends and family for years. Been going since I moved into the area almost twenty years ago. Still go even though I now live further off in Bethnal Green. Have to agree with other reviewers. This is a gem.

Really lovely local, whether you are dining in, or ordering to take out. The food tastes fresh, and there are some regional specialities on the menu. The restaurant will cater for all tastes and preferences - you only have to ask.
All in all, an excellent and reasonably priced local restaurant!

I practically lived in this restaurant when I first moved to Leytonstone. It has a contemporary flair to the decor (definitely NO flock wallpaper!) and the food is exquisite, with a combination of traditional Indian dishes combined with an ever increasing repertoire of culinary delights. The staff are the best, attention to detail and quality of service is what they take a justifiable pride in.
If unsure about certain food items, the staff will be only too happy to help the novice through the menu, but they are equally able to advise old hands to Indian cuisine as to the chef's recommendations or they can tailor make a menu to suit individual tastes.
I am happy in my new house in the country, and we have some good restaurants here in Suffolk. But my heart will always remain in the Orient.

This is the best indian restaurant i have ever been to food and service wise. The staff can't do enough for you and the food is fresh and tasty.
I have been to many indian restaurants throughout essex and london, some more well known expensive ones but the orient still tops my list.
Menu changes regualarly to keep ideas fresh. Expect to pay about £50 for a complete meal for 2 with wine.
Oh and the pic on this website is incorrect, its next to the shop in the pic!!!
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed...
