Five of us went for a celebratory lunch. The starters were okay. I ordered fish and chips - in a fish restuarant. I believe that the fish was not fresh but frozen (smooth batter). The fish and chips had obviously been cooked much earlier and thrown back in the pan to heat. The chips were black and the fish looked just awful I complained. The waiter immediately apologised (he obviously agreed with me). The manager arrived and apologised and said he would cook me a fresh meal. This fresh meal was served within five minutes - and fish and chips can not be cooked in that time. It was different piece of fish but again obviously cooked earlier and reheated and the chips were again black. How the manager could insist that the meal had been freshly cooked was an insult to my intelligence. He insisted I have something else free of charge. I chose the steak - stringy. Nobody enjoyed the main course. We did not stay for sweet or coffee. The total cost for the five of us was £94 - and I was not charged for my main course or the wine. A very big disappoinment. Some of the reviews I read of the restaurant were not good - I should have taken the advice. Our waiter however was excellent.
