Puerto Mexico

had my 21st bday here last week. what a nice suprise. hadnt been there before and never had mexican. the waiter explained what was what on the menu. bloody brilliant. we all had a great time.

Absolutely dire. Food was quite atrocious to be honest - literally just out of the freezer. A starter of "flaked crabmeat" turned out to be crabsticks and the chicken for the fajitas was as one of my companions put it "aneamic" and oily. When we complained about the dessert not being what was stated on the menu, completely melted by the time it had got to the table notwithstanding the piece of plastic which was found), we were given short shrift.

The only reason the place is getting 2 out of 10, were that the prices were reasonable, our sangria was pleasant, waitress was smiling throughout and we were refunded for the melted dessert.

I know i shouldn't expect much as it is in Sydenham, but when you exit and the restaurant exhibits 2 awards for excellence (2007 and 2008), you expect something a little better.
