Maxim Chinese Restaurant

We've been living in South Ealing for over 10 years and hadn't realised that there was this fantastic Chinese Restaurant behind where we lived!
We were greeted by friendly staff and the food was efficient and served on hot plates!
We ordered prawn on toast and seaweed as starters. For main we had the braised duck, aubergine & pork and a lettuce wrapped with meat. For desert we had toffee banana with lychees.
Super happy and yummy and found out they do take aways, which could be dangerous!

The food ( three main courses and a starter) came out about 5 minutes after ordering. The meat dishes appeared to be overcooked ( tasted like overly boiled meat put in sauce). Food was very salty tasting. Whilst the service was good, it wasn't worth the £12 service charge they added to a £60 bill (??). In my opinion I would give the food - just about - an average rating.

This is always a busy, lively restaurant. The food is excellent whetther you eat in or take away. It is not cheap but still offers good value for money.
