24 people from the office went to Al Dente for Christmas meal. There was another party upstairs and other diners downstairs. There were two staff serving and the manager and one person further back. The food appeared to have heated up. I only had one mushroom as a starter with a salad and this tasted ok. My main was a lasgne and looked and tasted rubbery and meat was stange - it appeared to be a ready prepared cheap lasgne that had been heated through. Dessert was tirmusu and had been defrosted and tasted a little wet. Some diners had already eaten their meal before others were served and a few kept having to report that their meal had not arrived.

The main problem was the manager. Throughot the evening he was rude and short about our food even though we had each phoned through to him what we wanted from the set menu. He became angry when our table decided we were not paying the service charge. We said the service was poor and food was dismal and his comment was that 'people do not visit the resturant for the food!'. He than decided to tell our table of 7 people that we were banned for life and followed us while we left and slammed the door behind us. He than proceeded to ban some of our colleagues later whe they complained at the high cost of the wine bill and the poor food.

People who were not on a Christmas do appeared to have better food but were constantly complaining about the length of time it was taking.

I feel we were ripped off with poor food, poor service and disrespect from the manager. I and my colleagues have been 'banned' from the resturant and that is no great loss to us.
