Hey, I've posted a similar review on Yelp as I really want to support this business. Please note, I am not affiliated with the business, I just really like eating there!

If you fancy some hot, tasty and affordable food I totally recommend Yip Wongs in Tooting. My boyfriend and I eat here all the time, usually on the spur of the moment when we don't fancy cooking.

The food isn't exactly high-end but you can't fault it; tasty, good-value in a chilled out place. (especially nice: Duck pancakes and tempura)

The thing is, it's never busy, and it's such a shame. I'm not sure why this is? I totally recommend it for a lovely bite to eat. Maybe it's because it looks posh. But we're pretty informal people and we've always been given a warm welcome and never feel uncomfortable.

I have meant to review these guys lots of times but never got round to it - and now I'm moving from Tooting. Typical! Please someone else take our place by the impressive and beautiful carved statue. (It really is a wonderful piece of craftmanship)

Support this friendly family business, they deserve it

Thanks for reading

I recently went to Yip Wong's for my mother in law's birthday and we all had a really really good evening. I must admit that I was a little apprehensive in going because I had been put off a bit from previous bad reviews but I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised! The presentation of the food was amazing and the flavours were absolutely beautiful. Now, I like my chinese food and I must say that the food here is the best that I have tasted in a very long time. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the restaurant did an excellent job looking after all of us. My mother in law really enjoyed having her birthday at the restaurant and my family are arranging a time to meet up there again because they loved it so much! I have since returned to Yip Wong with a few of my friends and on my second visit, I was not disappointed! I'm not one to really post reviews but I felt that I needed to let you know of my recent experiences of Yip Wong because it is definitely a restaurant well worth visiting and previous reviews do not do it justice at all. I can't comment on how the restaurant was before but my recent visits have been very enjoyable and the high standard of food has been consistent. You must go!!!

In the last couple of years this place has really turned a corner and is now fantastic with delicious food and top service. The crispy chilli beef is phenomenal and quarter duck ain't bad either. I'd recommend anyone to come here and the staff are delightful. I hope it does well and will be back soon!

Having not been for Chinese in years we thought we would give yip wong
a chance having driven past. We ordered a set menu which meant
three courses. We waited a good 45 minutes before our starter turned up
and it was an hour and ten minutes before the crispy duck arrived.
I say arrived it was actually the pancakes that turned up with no explanation
of where the duck had got to. Food when it arrived was actually fairly tasty, but
terrible service, unprofessional staff, and slow slow slow means we won't be returning
think faulty towers and you are there. Bad lighting sets a strange atmosphere!

I have been eating at this place for over ten years (it was originally David Wong's). The food isn't quite as good as it was then but it is still really really nice. I recommend getting anything deep fried and shredded or the singapore fried noodles. Takeaway service is great, although they don't accept card payments for delivery. You can't really go wrong with one of the set menus.

The food and the service were divine, pricing was reasonable, 2 of us at for 40 pounds excluding a dessert, the main singapore noodles were so good my daughter requested another plate. Would strongly recommend this for a nice meal out as apposed to a take away.
