My Review

5 out of 10 stars

Came here in September. Not very good, disappointing. Relies on its older reputation and location I think. Nautilus in West End Lane is much much better if you can get there. I would not bother to try Sea Shell.

My Review

4 out of 10 stars

Having visited the Sea Shell several times over the last few years it has become a noticeably less enticing journey. My last meal, June this year, was burnt and inedible. A shame that a once excellent fish and chip shop has become less than ordinary. May be they have new owners, or less than competent fryers, but they are not the fish beacon they once were!

My Review

gets a good Time Out review, so we went. Mixed results. Calamari a waste of time, but our fish was consistently good. My main complaint was with the chips. Instead of large, plump and tasty chips, we all got small, flat, overcooked edge pieces (maybe they save the best chip pieces for their sit down restaurant?) Sea Shell - if you are reading this, PLEASE get adjust your chip cutting machine for larger cut, or buy a new one. Crappy chips in England - now that's the last straw.

My Review

5 out of 10 stars

Regarded as the best fish and chip shop in London I have been meaning to try it for years and finally went last night (2nd August).
What a disappointment!
I had smoked haddock chowder as a starter which consisted of three chunks of smoked haddock a sliced new potato and a cream sauce (watery)-not the texture of chowder.
My partner had smoked salmon and trout mousse-not bad but we asked for brown bread which took 15 minutes to arrive and was rye bread!
Main course-haddock and cod-the fish was barely cooked and watery but the batter was the worst I have ever had-soft not crispy and underneath (skin side) not cooked at all.
My local chippy is far better and a quarter the price.
