I find Aroma restaurant quite good. As a buffet , it has a variety of food, compared to other chinese buffets. Food is not greasy and it is quite fresh. The price is reasonable. I would like to give it 7 out of 10

Let me start say i have never had bad chinese in my life til i ate there... none of the dishes were nice..... alot of the food was soaking in grease! And there in an option where you can get your meal cooked from fresh jus add the food raw on a plate and they cook it for you.. sounds good? No because the meat wasnt cooked proplerly it was still pink/red when i opened it up! I went back and told him and he wasnt happy about it so made me feel like it was my fault! the waiters gave us the wrong drinks and i asked for no ice and got ice... I will never ever go back the the food and service was disgusting.

When I worked at the BBC, my colleagues and I ate at Aroma on several occasions. We always found it warm, friendly and reasonably priced. It was always an enjoyable experience. On Saturday, my family met there to mark the end of my sister's visit from America. Several years after my last visit, it is now a totally different experience. My children and I were chased (almost mobbed) by staff as we entered, eager to hustle us straight to the counter where we must pay before any other niceties (like a civil "Hello") could be considered. Indeed, there were no such niceties! While none of the staff were actually rude, I did not get the feeling they 'lived to serve'. I was also a little shocked to find that I must pay the adult price for my 15-year old daughter. I was momentarily disorientated and wondered if I had inadvertently come to a theme park, as the 'adult/child' distinction was based on a height chart! As I was browsing for my initial platter, I advised a waitress that the pancakes (for the crispy duck) required replenishment. Nearly 10 minutes later, I was still waiting, which seemed odd when there were at least half a dozen waitresses just standing around. Although some of the food was quite nice (but not exceptional) I found some dishes somewhat poor, almost to the extent of being inedible. One chicken dish, for example, was fairly tasteless and rather difficult to chew. In general, the mien of the staff seemed very 'hands off' and I felt that perhaps the presence of paying customers might be viewed as a necessary evil. Notwithstanding the good cheer engendered by our party, the evening was something of a let-down for me. Remembering the previous happy times, I had bolstered the expectations of my children. I am not sure they will believe me again when I take them out. One thing is certain, however. They will not be going to Aroma again and neither will my family or friends.

A nice restaurant and a good variety of food but the staff lack in customer care and friendliness.

This is the worst Chinese meal I have had in living memory. I do eat a lot of Chinese and know quite a lot about the cuisine. The buffet at Aroma did not have a single dish on it that was any good at all. It was all stodge and the few bits of meat and fish were poorly cooked in disgusting sauces. Not a nice place.

A highly recommended and enjoyable dining experience with a wide selection of tasty Chinese dishes from all over China at a very reasonable price too. The buffet bar is well designed and is the centre of Aroma which has a constant bustling and buzzing atmoshpere with fellow dinners selecting from the dish varieties and mixes. Compliments is given to the Chef and his team on providing the a constant and ongoing variety of dishes which allows the dinners to come back and enjoy each time. As a suggestion there should be more choices on the deserts side of the menu other than merely ice cream.

An effective layout and large choice of dishes promised an excellent dining experience which was, unfortunately, completely ruined by the attitude of the management and the ordinary quality of the food. Unbelievably, they wanted to charge 50p for a glass of tap water. I imagine this is why the place was only quarter full on a Friday night. Avoid.

If you are wanting a descent meal then Aroma is definately not the place to go.Very overpriced for the quality of food and very unfriendly service. We were enticed by the tepanyaki secetion,if overcooked prawns with the left overs of everyone else's food all over them sounds good to you then maybe this res
taurant will appeal. The prawn toast is merely deep fried bread with no taste of prawn at all and oil oozing out with every bite! Not impressed
