My Review

10 out of 10 stars

Was going to the Victoria Palace Theatre to see Billy Elliot so took our party of 6 to Tiles (based on the reviews here.) We went on a Thurs at 5.30 but would suggest you make a reservation as they were just about fully booked but were kind enough to seat us downstairs. Food was very flavoursome, beautifully presented and main meals were about £10 each (desserts £4.75 each). The waiter asked if we were going to the theatre as he would then ensure our food was here in time (so if going to the theatre, do tell them in advance.) They were attentive but not in your face. Cosy atmosphere with candles everywhere. Great food, great staff and would definitely go again. Highly recommended.

My Review

8 out of 10 stars

My friend(a sommelier) and I found ourselves at Tiles last night,it had been a while since I had been there but I noticed a distinct improvement in both the cooking and the service. It has a quirky yet extremely well chosen wine list, the food was fresh and well made(try the fishcakes!) and I was impressed with the service because they were there when I wanted them and didn't hover over the table bugging me.It has a cosy atmosphere and I think it is great value for money.

My Review

1 out of 10 stars

The service at Tiles was very abrupt verging on the hostile. Our waitress Commandant Attitude(recently demobbed from the army?)failed to mention the specials and brought us cokes which like our waitress were depleted of any sparkle. My lambsteak & tagliatelle pushed the envelope of 'lite bites'& my friend's veggie risotto was lilliputian. At nearly £30.00 for two mains & 2 soft drinks I felt defrauded. On the way home I succumbed to a large portion of chips to offset my hunger. If you're after reasonably-priced hearty fodder in relaxed surroundings you are better off trying a good chain like La Tasca or an independent like Grumbles. & beware, Tiles sneaks an automatic service charge of 1

My Review

Tiles restaurant offers exquisite cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The brocoli and goats cheese tart exploded with flavour, the steak cooked with mushrooms, brandy, shallots and cream served with beans and hand cut chips was delicious. The salmon fishcakes which are their speciality comes served with green coleslaw, horseradish and garlic mayonaise and a crispy side salad-this was scrumptious and did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!
