ok, so let's be clear: yes, it is a great experience, yes the food is superb and yes the wine list is very correct.
However,I have been in quite a number of michelin stars restaurant and I am still struggling to understand why GR is getting three stars for this. The allocation of stars is fairly "nebulous" to me and I am certainly not at the "culinary" level of the experts who judge restaurants. However,from my humble viewpoint, I was way more "wowed" by a place like Noma in Copenhagen that gets two stars and is roughly half the price of GR's Hospital road. From a creativity, "uniqueness of the experience" standpoint, it was beating GR hands down.
Maybe the fact that is is French food, which is what 80% of the stars restaurant serve plays a part (I am French so nothingaginast French food here!)...and it is certainly great French food served there.

Service was excellent, french Maitre d'O very knowlegeable and yet humble and approacheable, plus good wine recommendations (good vfm Gevery Chambertin)

An absolutely perfect meal. The service was impeccable, the food was exquisite and we could not fault it in any way. We opted for the menu prestige and had course after course of incredibly prepared, tasty food - each one as perfect as the previous one. I could not recommend this restaurant more highly. It isn't cheap, but the quality you get for your money is more then worth it.
