My Review
3 out of 10 stars
Upon arrival i was greeted politely, and being the first time customer there i thought it was odd for them to sit us with other customers there. There were five people already there with two more the arrive and we had a part of three. We were told to sit there even though there were empty tables around.
I was appauled with the waitresses service as she blatently lied about all other tables being reserved when it clearly wasnt.
The tempura, chicken teriaki and grilled squid was really nice, and were apparently part of the buffet. The part which u only get once. (How is that a buffet then?) We paid £15 per head to eat small amount of alright tasting sushi and a small portion of others.
WHAT a rip off. I certainly will not be going there again.
If you want to go Hi Sushi, got to Hi Sushi Salsa in Camden. Million times better, better food and customer service.

The hot foods were decent, the typical chicken teriyaki/yakitori/katsu, prawn tempura, fried pork/squid, miso soup, etc. Most of these were deep fried and the quality was average. You’re allowed 8 of these. The sushi selection was very limited and salmon-based: salmon nigiri/sashimi/iso, California/avocado/cucumber rolls, etc. “Crab” simply meant processed crabsticks. The quality of the sushi was not bad, again nothing special but the fish was fresh and the portions were generous. You have an hour and a half and you can repeat sushi orders as much as you want. For £14.80 (plus mandatory 12.5% service charge), it’s not too bad, warrants a visit but I wouldn’t really go again.

This place is a real find - friendly staff, fresh food and at a really good price. Ask for the buffet at £13.50 and you really can have 'all you can eat'. There's sashimi, chicken katsu, tempura prawns, and the usual salmon rolls, calafornia rolls etc to munch on, along with miso soup. The place is often busy but they always find room for us - it's a regular haunt because it's such good value, and a great place to take friends who've not tried sushi before as the staff are happy to explain what's what if needed. Definately worth a visit!

I went to this place alst year and was not impressed with the food, staff or atmosphere. From the time we sat down to the time we left we were rushed by the staff to eat quickly and to leave. The food is very basic. You only get basic sashimi on the buffet menu and to be really honest for the price I would have rathered paid more and gone to a proper japanese restaurant (the staff are all chinese) and had better quality food. For such a small place, (I mean really tiny) they will charge you service charge. When on of my party questioned this, they blanlently said: "Well who served you the food then?". Service charge is an optional thing which most of us tend to forget.

We stumbled on Hi Sushi just as its "All you can eat" offer starts and what a find! Downstairs we sat at a sunken table with an ice bucket full of Asahi beer and enjoyed our banquet. The staff are lovely, very helpful and the sushi plentiful. Sadly no tuna in the offer but thick slabs of salmon. A japanese family at the next table ordfered a la carte and their food looked and smelled wonderful. A great place to go with a couple of friends, the beer is quite expensive but the food made up for it, can't wait to go back!

I have to respond the other user's review claiming this is the best sushi in Europe. It isn't, but it is very good. You can rely on this place for some fresh and tasty sushi, well prepared. So, no complaints, except that to get the best value you have to order carefully. The set meals are great value, though they might not contain the specific dishes you want. If you order a la carte it can get pricey.
Hi Sushi is good and reliable, but calm down, it's not the best in Europe. It's not even the best in London! For the best (and best value), try Atari-Ya or Cafe Japan, if you can cope with the trek into North London.

Very possibly the best sushi place in London. The sashimi and nagiri are both fresh and copious, and the price... £6.50 gets you all the sushi you can manage, plus udon or ramen noodles, chicken teriyaki, and even a chicken katsu! If anyone knows of a better place to have sushi in Europe, let me know.

Fantastic little place! Don't let the exterior put you off. The main seating area is downstairs and is bright and fun. The sushi and sashimi is fresh and very good and the bento boxes offer great value.
Great little, intimate place. definitely recommended. A word of warning though, this place gets very busy on fridays and saturdays!

Very poor restaurant. The hot fried food was bland and designed to fill you up so you eat less sushi. The sushi was the worst I have ever had, we left almost all of it. Service was unfriendly and the atmosphere was very dark and dismal. Avoid. There are so many better sushi places than this in London.
