| About Roxeth Recreation Ground: | This park has been in existence since the 19th century, providing locals with recreational facilities in a green open space as well as sporting activities. It has been home to the South Harrow Cricket Club for around 70 years; it is also a popular spot for budding football players. Elsewhere there are ornamental gardens and a kids’ playground; at weekends it gets filled up with locals here for a picnic. A section of the park has been devoted to natural wildlife – many people turn up to pick the blackberries or just have a wander. The annual Roxeth Show, now over 30 years old, also takes place here, with funfairs, trade stalls, circus performers and dog shows. The park opens at 7.30 and closes at dusk. |
