South Bank university was founded in 1892- then named the Borough Polytechnic. In 1970 the Borough Polytechnic and four other institutions became joined together and in 1992 it was granted University status- the Southbank University was born. Alongside traditional studies, South Bank University also deals with specialist interests to local businesses.
