About South Bank University

South Bank university was founded in 1892- then named the Borough Polytechnic. In 1970 the Borough Polytechnic and four other institutions became joined together and in 1992 it was granted University status- the Southbank University was born.

Alongside traditional studies, South Bank University also deals with specialist interests to local businesses. One of the largest Universities in London- South Bank is home to over 18,000 students from all across the world. The University boasts a uniquely central location, providing convenient and close access to many attractions and transportation links.

The Chancellor of South Bank University is journalist and broadcaster Sir Trevor Macdonald. The Arts Complex and National Museums in London's South Bank region is only a short walk from the University and tourist attractions like Tower Bridge and the London are also close by. The primary subjects taught at South Bank University are Health and Social Care. The impressive architecture of the main building is an impressive addition to the local skyline.
